Dasar 2: Pronoun (Kata ganti orang)

Kegunaan pronoun (kata ganti) sama halnya noun, hanya saja kebanyakan pronoun mempunyai tiga fungsi subyek, obyek, prossesive.Pronoun dapat di kelompokan menjadi beberapa tipe:Personal Pronoun (kata ganti orang)

• Possessive Pronoun (kata ganti kepunyaan)
• Reflective Pronoun (kata ganti mandiri)
• Demonstrative Pronoun (kata ganti penunjuk)
• Interrogative Pronoun (kata ganti penanya)
• Relative Pronoun (kata ganti penghubung)

Contoh:

·         Personal Pronoun: Subject and Object

Contoh:

o   Kamu menemui saya.

You visit me

o   Kami menolong mereka.

We help them

·         Possessive: Dependent (tidak bisa berdiri sendiri) dan Independent (bisa berdiri sendiri)

Contoh:

o   Ini buku saya

This is my book (Dependent)

o   Buku ini punya saya

This book is mine (Independent)

o   Itu buku kamu

That is your book

Buku itu punya kamu

That book is yours

o   Ini pensil kamu dan itu pensil punya saya

This is your pencil and that is mine

Catatan

1.      Bentuk dependent selalu diikuti kata benda

                 Contoh:

Buku saya

My book

Buku kamu

Your book

2.      Possessive pronoun yang menggunakan “OF”

                 Contoh:

Bapaknya anak laki-laki

The father of the boys

Seekor kucingnya       

A cat of hers

3.      Possessive pronoun yang menggunakan “Aprostrophe” (‘)

Contoh:

Ibunya anak laki-laki

The boy’s mother

Bukunya murid itu     

The student’s book

·         Reflexive  Pronoun biasanya digunakan untuk;

1)      Menguatkan subject

Contoh:

Saya sendiri akan pergi ke Banjarmasin.

I myself will go to Banjarmasin.

2)      Menguatkan Object

Contoh:

Saya hanya menyintai dirimu saja.

I love only you yourself.

3)      Mengandung arti sendiri (a lone)

Contoh:

Saya menyetir mobil sendiri.

I drive a car by myself.
