Because / because of

Because and because of are both used to introduce reasons, but grammatically they operate differently. 
Because dan because of keduanya digunakan untuk memperkenalkan alasan-alasan, tetapi secara tatabahasa penerapannya berbeda
Because is a conjunction. It must be followed by a subject and verb.  

Because adalah Cunjunction (kata hubung). Yang mana harus diikuti sebuah Subject dan kata kerja
Because of is a preposition. It must be followed by a noun phrase or verb-ing, not a verb phrase
Because of adalah sebuah kata depan. Yang mana harus diikuti dengan prasa kata benda atau kata kerja Verb-Ing, bukan sebuat prasa kata kerja.

Karena saya tidak suka ikan, Saya memilih ayam

Because of : Preposition

Because of	Noun phrase or verb-ing
Because of	The rain,	We stayed at home
Karena hujan kita diam di rumah
Because of	Not liking fish,	I ordered chicken
Karena tidak suka ikan saya memilih ayam
Because of	his illness,	He didn’t go to the party
Karena sakitnya dia tidak pergi ke pesta
Because of	feeling ill,	He didn’t go to the party
Karena terasa sakit, dia tidak pergi ke pesta
